How to manage custom Dashboards in Jira?

If you hate repetitive tasks doing this same thing over and over again which is one of the reasons where dashboards comes to rescue.

Let’s have a quick glance on Dashboard : 

In Jira, a dashboard is a customizable, visual display of information that provides an overview of a project, team, or set of issues. It's a central place where users can access and view various types of data and reports relevant to their work. Jira dashboards are highly flexible and can be tailored to the specific needs of different users and teams.

Log In to Jira:

Log in to your Jira instance with the appropriate permissions. You must have the necessary permissions to create a dashboard.

Navigate to the Dashboard Section:

Click on the "Dashboards" option in the top navigation menu. If you can't find it there, you may need to click on "More" to reveal additional options.

Create a New Dashboard:

Click on the "Create Dashboard" button. This will open a new dialog box.

Set Dashboard Details:

Give your dashboard a name.

Optionally, provide a description for your dashboard.

Choose the sharing settings for your dashboard. You can make it visible to only you, specific users, or everyone.

Add Gadgets:

After creating your dashboard, you will be redirected to the dashboard configuration page.

Click on the "Add Gadget" button.

Select Gadgets:

You can select from a variety of gadgets that display different types of information, such as project statistics, filters, pie charts, and more. Select the gadgets that are relevant to your needs.

Configure Gadgets:

After selecting a gadget, you may need to configure it. This typically involves selecting the project, filter, or data source you want to display.

Configure each gadget to show the data you want on your dashboard.

Arrange Gadgets:

You can drag and drop the gadgets to arrange them in the desired order on your dashboard.

Save Your Dashboard:

Click the "Save" button to save your custom dashboard.

Set as the Default Dashboard (optional):

If you want this dashboard to be the default one when you log in to Jira, you can set it as your default dashboard in your user settings.
